Topic Description Research area
Translational Research applied to Clinical nephrology and renal transplantation The research activity can be grouped in the following areas: - Recognition, through functional/pharmacogenomic genomic studies, of specific biological markers able to discriminate the clinical response after treatment with immunosuppressive drugs used in renal transplantation. - Identification of potential clinical and biological predictive elements of the delayed functional recovery of the transplanted kidney (DGF). - Identification of biological elements able to regulate the activity of the main intracellular metabolic pathways involved in chronic microinflammation and oxidative stress in patients with chronic renal failure in conservative treatment and/or in dialysis (emo- or peritoneo-dialysis).
