Learning outcomes

In-depth study of some fundamental topics of clinical microbiology, such as sensitivity to antibiotics, antibiotic resistance, new antibiotics, and infections that are difficult to diagnose and treat.

Syllabus

Multi-drug resistant microorganisms, resistance mechanisms and preventive measures.
Old and new antibiotics for multi-resistant microorganisms: mechanisms of action, spectrum of action and onset of resistance.
Antibiogram: reading and interpretation. Infections by anaerobic microorganisms: the main pathogens and diagnostics.
Osteomyelitis and prosthesis infections: main pathogens and diagnostics.
