Dr. Stefano Ugel’ s research focuses upon the tumor immunology in particular to point up both biological mechanisms that regulates immune response dysfunction in the tumor microenvironment and also the development of innovative approaches of active and passive immunotherapy:

• New immunotherapeutic approaches based on DNA vaccine, DC or peptides
• Adoptive cell therapeutic approches based on anti-TERT T cells
• Cellular and molecular networks that meditae immunosupprssion on tumor microenvironment with particular emphasis on myeloid-derived suppressor cells  (MDSC)
• MDSC role on metastatic process
