Rosarita Cuccoli holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Rennes in France, with a thesis on sports journalism. She has worked for over 15 years, both as an academic and a practitioner, on issues related to sports and the media from a socio-political and economic perspective. She served as secretary general of the sports branch of the World Association of News Publishers, headquartered in Paris, until 2011. She taught in France, at various Grandes Écoles in Paris, Lyon and Angers, disciplines related to the sociology of sport and the media, at a bachelor and master's level, until 2021.

Since 2007, she has been collaborating with the think tank Sport and Citizenship, which promotes sports policies at the European level and studies the social impact of sport, with the support of the European Commission. Rosarita is part of the scientific committee of Sport and Citizenship, where she advises on sports and media issues, after serving as a member of the board of this organization for two consecutive terms and chairing the European Network on Women and Sport of the same organization. In parallel with her academic activity, she has been working for over ten years as an editorial researcher for international sport business publications.

Prior to obtaining her Ph.D. in Rennes, she obtained a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) in International Relations from the University of Cambridge and a first class honours degree in Political Science from the University of Bologna. Also at the University of Bologna, she has completed a post-graduate course in International Cooperation and Aid Policies for the Developing Countries.
