Curriculum

Daniele Loro is an associate professor of pedagogy, theories of education and social education. HIs research activity began with the philosophical approach to education, with the aim of understanding the meaning of pedagogical education and knowledge, closely connected to it. The reflection was then articulated in two directions: one of a more theoretical character, the other of a more practical nature. On the one hand the need emerged to understand if there is an essence of education; on the other, the need emerged to understand the meaning of being "adults" and especially when one becomes truly adult, that is when the adult experiences more closely an existential dimension that represents the characterizing element of his own adulthood. In recent years, the two research directions have been further articulated: the theoretical direction is focusing on the cognitive and interdisciplinary foundations of pedagogical knowledge; the practical direction is focusing on the hermeneutic or interpretative moment that characterizes the educational activity.

Hermeneutics as an educational and pedagogical methodology To know how to educate it is not enough to observe and describe carefully an educational event; it is not even possible to go directly and mechanically from observation to design and then to action. In the middle there is the essential moment of the educator (or of the pedagogist) who understands the meaning of what he observes and then "translates" it into intentional action, that is to say in a project.From the effectiveness of the project the validity and the value of the "understanding" and of its "interpretation" can be confirmed. Think of education from the philosophical point of view Even in the educational field, to act with intentionality and effectiveness is not enough to have knowledge and skills, and commitment and good will are not enough; it is necessary to understand well the existential meaning of educational action and the cognitive specificity of pedagogical knowledge. Think of experience of interior life in adulthood The individual grows and becomes an adult from many points of view: biological, legal, social, psychological and working. However, it does not become complete if it does not get to directly experience living not only in relation to others, but also in relation to the deepest part of oneself.
