Learning outcomes

The course will offer a basic knowledge of Developmental Psychology by presenting an overview of human development from birth to the end of the pediatric age. The modifications, changes, and pathologies that, on a physical, emotional, affective, relational, cognitive and behavioral level, can occur in the child will be illustrated. The main aspects of Clinical Psychology necessary to develop adequate communication and relational skills in the relationship with the patient of the future Dental Hygienist will be illustrated. Psychological, behavioral and communicative techniques for the management of children (fears, pain, etc.) will be indicated, providing tools to understand and analyze the scientific literature relating to the topics covered during the lessons.
