This Level II Master class in Chemical Engineering for Water Purification and Renewable Energy was born in academic year 2003/2004. Thanks to the success of this initiative promoted by the Universities of Verona, Venice, Padua, Udine, Trieste, Ancona and Bologna the IX edition of the course is being proposed. The curriculum for the course has been reformulated and readapted to market requests as well as to the needs of students which arose during previous years of activity; topics covered in the course have been extended and new ones have been introduced as well as important aspects relative to renewable energy. Apart from the quality of the teaching (an average of 3.5 out of 4 in the evaluations of students), the Master class distinguishes itself by the its location; in fact the lessons are carried out at the Treviso water treatment plant, which is equipped with a large laboratory for chemical analysis and an experimental area with pilot sewage treatment plants. The scientific level of the Master course is guaranteed by the presence of a scientific board of professors who are faculty members representing the consortium of 7 universities mentioned above. The content of the Master course will be divided as follows: foundational course activities, activities dealing with the topics of water and energy, activities of analysis and planning in the laboratory, and seminar activities.
