Overview

This course has been established with the support of the University Masters Course in “the Management of Patient Risk and Safety” and of the School for Specialization in “Hygiene and Preventive Medicine”. As such it aims at the following objectives: a) To train healthcare operators that possess the professionalism necessary to confront and resolve complex managerial, organisational, therapeutic and diagnostic problems of the integrated clinical pathways for persons affected by chronic degenerative illnesses and disabilities that result in a lack of autonomy. A further objective is managing initiatives and support for family members. b) To favour integration by way of an interdisciplinary approach of patient care, whereby the various professions that operate in the healthcare sector work in a coordinated fashion in particular within the integrated network of hospital care, local surroundings and homecare (i.e. multidisciplinary professionalism, multidimensional assessment of social-healthcare needs, secure hospital discharge, continuousness of care, palliative medicine, multifunctional rehabilitation, and management of patient risk and safety).
