Learning outcomes

The aim of training in neuroradiology is to ensure that trainees are familiar with the imaging modalities available for the study of normal, functional and pathological changes of the encephalon, for the study of the skull, skull base, extracranial segment, spine, spinal cord, peripheral nervous system and interventional procedures [for more details see "ESR European training curriculum"].
The trainee must be able to justify and choose the appropriate examination technique needed for each neurological patient and appropriate to the clinic.
In addition to CT and MRI reports, the trainee should be able to
- observe and/or perform various interventional procedures under supervision, such as neuroradiological DSA and percutaneous procedures
- must be familiar with advanced MRI techniques/sequences (e.g. spectroscopy, functional, diffusion), new MRI contrasts of major advanced MRI examinations, applications of artificial intelligence and medical-legal rules and regulations related to big data transfer and machine learning.
Minimum number of neuroradiological examination reports over the four years of training: 300.
