The aim of the course is to provide the basics of dental aesthetics, knowledge of anatomical alterations that lead to imperfections and the possibilities of treatment, both hard and soft tissues, using innovative techniques such as laser and ozone.
The module includes the following topics:
1) Anatomical enamel alterations: pre- and post-eruptive defects
2) Differential diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of enamel defects
3) Dental whitening: from the first visit to the choice of whitening treatments. Difference between home and ambulatory whitening treatments. The colour-taking technique. Photographic documentation. Sensitivity management. Over-the-counter treatments
4) Laser
5) Ozone therapy
6) Guided Biofilm Therapy: a new approach to oral hygiene sessions

The examination will take the form of a multiple-choice test and two open questions. However, the student must have prepared a paper on an innovative technique or technology in order to sit the exam.
