Syllabus

Lecture, discussion round, planning tool: developing work schedule, partner work

Nurses need valid and reliable assessment tools (AI) to assess the needs of patients. But also in research, reliable, valid, and feasible AI are required to explore nursing phenomena. The contents of the lecture described above are the foundation for sensitizing students to the challenges they might experience in nursing practice.
After an extensive attendance of the students as well as intensive participation during the lecture, an oral exam is planned.

…acquire deeper knowledge of methodical foundations of nursing diagnostic procedures
…describe studies on testing psychometric properties of assessment instruments
…describe the scientific correct translation of assessment instruments
…judge the psychometric properties of nursing screening- & assessment instruments and choose relevant instruments for nursing practice
