Learning outcomes

Educational goals
The course provides students with the basic concepts to perform a functional evaluation of the patient.
The expected learning outcomes are:
a) know the plans the axes and acquire a correct terminology;
b) know the tools for measurement and use them correctly;
c) correctly detect the Range Of Movement of the different body districts;
d) acquire the ability to make a correct observation with detection and recording of useful information;
e) Knowing the correct postures and correct postural passages, acquiring the ability to detect postures and incorrectly
performed postural passages;
f) Know the different types of sockets and their use, for an ergonomically correct gesture;
g) Observing gait understanding and explaining errors;
h) Understand the importance of assessment scales as a result indicator tool, acquire the ability to correctly
administer some assessment scales to patients.

The course will cover the following topics:
1. Introduction:
a) Movement plans and rotation axes;
b) Joint measurement of what is how it is done;
c) Measurement tools;
d) Range Of Movment, as it is measured, as described, for all the body districts;
2. Postural observation:
a) Theory: (standing position sitting supine what to observe)
b) practical application: group work.
Written production of the observations, plenary restitution of the results of the observations, with discussion and analysis of the results emerged from the observations.
3. Postural steps:
a) Description of the different steps, from supine to seated to orthostatism with analysis of the activation sequence of
the different muscle groups involved in the movements.
b) Sockets and manipulation
c) Describe postures and movements of all districts using correct terminology, choose a gesture and describe it.
4. Gait
a) From physiological ambulation, observe the non-physiological, filmed or clinical case;
5. Evaluation scales:
a) Know and administer grades correctly: AAII, AASS (DASH), ADL (Barthel), balance and pace (Tinetti) quality
of life (SF 36) or modified (SF12) mini mental test.
