Learning outcomes

Within the care relationship, the family is traditionally the care community.
In today's modern societies, the family cedes part of its skills and its welfare functions, which are delegated to non-family agencies. This seems to have created a break between the modern family and welfare networks, in which the "profane" assistance skills of the family have become scientifically tested skills.
In light of the social transformations that have also affected the family, the work of care opens up interesting points for debate:
- can the care work be and / or be delegated to non-family agencies or should it only concern the family unit?
- is caring work a job that must be paid?
The reflection on the activity of care highlights problems regarding the family involvement in the assistance and emotional involvement, which presupposes a work of management and control of emotions.

Syllabus

The program will develop through the deepening of some important thematic groups:
1. care work and family
2. family care work and proximity networks
3. emotions and feelings
4. the dimensions of emotions: normative, expressive and political
5. work on emotions: emotional management and control in care
