Learning outcomes

Clinical approach to the infant and the child of the second and third childhood, with particular regard to body composition, nutritional needs and nutrients. Main problems related to nutrition, obesity, diabetes. Diagnostic criteria, differential diagnosis, therapy, prevention.

Syllabus

Body composition of the child from birth to adulthood. Energy needs in the different ages of life. Nutrient requirements and their metabolism. Diseases related to nutrition. Obesity. Diabetes.
