Learning outcomes

To provide the students with the fundamental knowledge of social psychiatry, community psychiatry to help them identify the socio-relational components of discomfort and establish and maintain the relationship in treatment and rehabilitation in the framework of the mental health services where they are bound to work


Mental hygiene: basic concepts of health and disease; Social classes and mental illness; Influences of the environment on the symptoms and the course of mental illness; Concepts and practice of the Psychosocial approach; Community Psychiatry: principles, organization, clinical approach; Psychosocial rehabilitation: the WHO definitions of rehabilitation practices; Beyond rehabilitation: towards full citizenship: The movement of the consumers and of psychiatric self-help.
