At the end of the course, students should have acquired basic strategies to perform a search of the literature using the common specialized search engines and not. They should have acquired the main research methods in rehabilitation with regard to different types of experimental design (single case study, RCT etc.). They should have acquired the main mode of execution of a research project and formulation of a data collection form. They will be able to transfer the data to a spreadsheet and to use simple methods of statistical analysis (graphics production, elementary analysis)
Teaching the necessary knowledge to prepare a scientific research starting from 'conception of the study to the analysis and presentation of data.
In particular will be taught the following: procedures to carry out a thorough review of the scientific literature by the major search engines (PubMed, Embase, Citrix, etc); criteria for selecting the experimental design and the most appropriate assessment procedures regarding the purpose of the study; procedures for the collection of data and their organization for the purpose of statistical analysis of the data; procedures for the data processing and presentation of results by means of graphics, tables etc; ideas for writing a scientific paper.
