The course provides knowledge and methods to:
- understand the evidence based practice approach and its influence on the decision-making process in nursing/midwifery clinical practice
- define an answerable clinical research question
- efficiently search for evidence on the most important databases
- apply evidence into nursing practice
Introduction to Evidence Based Practice
- From the information need to the formulation of the question
- Searching the best evidence
- Evidence based tools: systematic review, meta-analysis, guidelines, CAT, Health Technology Assessment
The final examination will consist of multiple choice and open questions to assess students' understanding of the EBP and research concepts covered in the course and their ability to apply critical appraisal skills to the assessment and interpretation of clinical evidence.
