Overview

This Masters degree course is aimed at the acquisition of: - advanced nursing skills needed to manage urgent first-aid needs of clients in a variety of emergency situations both in and out of hospital; - procedures for organizing emergency facilities as well as techniques for coordinating emergency intervention; - procedures for the management of connections between hospital and region, and within the hospital as well as protocols concerning the transfer of patients and the exchange of health communications among a variety of fields related to emergency care; - methods of triage and setting priorities; - techniques of advanced life support and first-aid; - management strategies and techniques for the use of emergency transport including the helicopter; - strategies of effective communication and collaboration with clients and healthcare staff in emergency situations; - approaches and operative procedures to assess and deal with possible risks and prevent injuries in any situation in which certain events or contingencies could present a serious risk to personal safety; - techniques for stress management during crises situations; - methods of programming first-aid lessons for the general public as well as workshops and management of simulations for healthcare workers; - the knowledge needed to comply with legal elements that regulate and influence emergency healthcare work as well as deontological ethics; - a culture of nursing oriented toward guaranteeing appropriate healthcare according to well-defined scientific criteria.
