Alessandro Simonati, MD, is qualified as both Neurologist and Child Neurologist and Psychiatrist. He is associate professor of Child Neurology and Psychiatry and Director of the Child Neurology and Psychiatry residency program at Verona University. He is head of a clinical service, mainly devoted to developmental issues of pre-school children, and to neurodegenerative disorders of childhood onset. His current research activity is dealing with the patho-mechanisms of Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis, a group of rare progressive diseases of childhood onset, using cellular systems in vitro.
