Marta Palmieri is a senior scientist with a long-standing experience in biochemistry and molecular biology, both in research and didactic fields, achieved in italian and foreigner institutions. She has been leader of a research group since decades as demonstrated by several papers published in high impact peer-reviewed journals in which M.P. is last-author or correspondence author. Her most recent research experience concerns: i) the identification of innovative strategies to inhibit pancreatic adenocarcinoma cell proliferation in vitro and in vivo models, including the use of nano-vectors; ii) studies of mechanisms regulating autophagy, apoptosis, and ROS generation; iii) the transcriptional regulation of genes and epigenetic modifications; iv) molecular analyses of altered protein functions in cancer; v) proteomic and metabolomic analyses in pancreatic adenocarcinoma cells; vi) studies on the role of cancer stem cells in the development of pancreatic adenocarcinoma. Marta Palmieri has established on-going collaborations with several national and international institutions in the field of cancer research.
