Syllabus

The course includes four meetings in which different aspects of gender will be adressed. Gender medicine has in fact the objective to understand the mechanisms through which gender-related differences act on the health status and on the onset and the course of many diseases, as well as on the outcome of the therapies.
In fact, while men and women are subject to the same pathologies, they show symptoms, progression of diseases and response to treatments very different. Hence the need to pay particular attention to the study of gender, inserting this "new" dimension of medicine in all medical areas . The course will be held by prof.ssa Elda Baggio
