Learning outcomes

The objectives of this course for students are the following: to increase their knowledge in Autism Spectrum Disorders, to understand how different could be clinical and etiological features of Autism, starting with the analysis of deficitary functions in communication and socialization. Furthermore I would like to share with students a few neuropsychological interpretive models at the hearth of these disorders and, finally, let them know what is the current state of knowledge about the main topics of scientific research

Syllabus

During my course I would like to have 3 lessons with students concerning the following topics about Autism and Related Disorders.
"Clinical features of Autism and Related Disorders inside the Autistic Spectrum, Etiological and environmental causes promoting the development of Autism.
"Functional areas and related deficits in Autism: communication and social abilities"
"Neuropsychological models at the hearth of cerebral functioning in Autistic patients"
"State of art and knowledge concerning the main topics of scientific research on Autism"

Assessment methods and criteria

Appropriateness based simply on students attendance. Academic Year 2019 / 2020 (first semester).
