Learning outcomes

The course aims to develop skills related to the construction of diagnostic-therapeutic pathways, especially by making use of systematic reviews of the literature and guidelines as well as using the progress of neuroscience and information technology in rehabilitation, with particular attention to home automation. PLANNING AND CONDUCT OF SYSTEMATIC REVISIONS AND GUIDELINES IN THE REHABILITATION ENVIRONMENT The course aims to allow the student to critically read the literature regarding clinical trials, systematic and narrative reviews, guidelines and consensus conferences and to provide the basis for setting up a clinical trial. PROGRESS IN THE FIELD OF NEUROSCIENCE The course aims to provide students with a basic knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the central and peripheral nervous system and to acquire a basic knowledge of the primary neurological syndromes, and what interventions are the main duties of the rehabilitator. ORGANIZATIONAL PROGRESS IN THE DIAGNOSTIC-REHABILITATION PATHS The course aims to allow the student to obtain an adequate understanding of the rehabilitative problems concerning the pathologies of the central and peripheral nervous system. To this end, notions of the physiology of the muscular-articular systems, neurology and neuro-pathophysiology are introduced, focusing on the aspects of greater rehabilitation relevance. The course also provides the student with the fundamentals to program a rehabilitative intervention in the most common neurological pathologies. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY IN REHABILITATION The course aims to make students aware of the new technologies at the service of rehabilitation as well as understand the equipment and systems available to analyze and monitor ergonomic and accommodation configurations for people with motor, cognitive and psychic disabilities. TRANSLATIONAL RESEARCH IN REHABILITATION The course aims to improve knowledge on research that bridge the gap between laboratory activity and clinical sciences facilitating the translational process in the field of rehabilitation. The specific aims are to provide knowledge and skills for the setting up of research protocols according to the EBM methodology and to reflect on the transferability of those items in clinical practice. EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH IN REHABILITATION The course aims to improve the student’s knowledge regarding literature search using standard and non-specialized search engines; to apply the primary research methods in rehabilitation concerning the different types of experimental design (i.e. single case study, RCT); to understand the principal methods of execution for a research project and create a data collection form, transfer data to a spreadsheet and use simple methods of statistical analysis (graphical production, elementary analysis).

Program

MM: RICERCA SPERIMENTALE IN RIABILITAZIONE
------------------------
The course will cover the following topics: 1. What is an experimental research project - the "profit" research - the "non-profit" research 2. What is a funded research call - Characteristics of a funded research call - Access to a funded research call - The main research calls funded in rehabilitation 3. How to write a research project - Writing a project for a funded research call - Writing a research project to be submitted to the Ethics Committee 4. How to write the budget of a research project - Analysis of the different budget items - Define the budget in the light of the funded research call 5. How to evaluate the quality of a research project METHODS The meetings in the classroom with provide lectures (with slides), group discussions and exercises, in order to teach the student the topics described above.

Attività seminariali/a scelta dello studente
