Learning outcomes

The course aims to address the variability of the disease trajectory, the complexity of the patient and family problems along a continuum of the following health problems: arterial pressure, cardiovascular risk factors and heart failure. A large space will also be dedicated to pain in the field. rheumantologic and main wings rheumatologic pictures such as rheumatoid arthritis and connectivitis. Anemia, hemorrhagic diseases and coagulation diseases will also be addressed. The development of the disease in the stability / instability phase and in the advanced phase allows to a) dwell on the relevance and necessity of assistance, educational and rehabilitation interventions - with an integrated and interdisciplinary approach - towards patient and family; b) reflect on the contribution in the care and assistance of expert family patients; c) develop a territorial vision on resources and home care opportunities; d) analyze the palliative and end-of-life approach, also for non-cancer patients, for the management of symptoms and support for the family in difficult choices. The instability / exacerbation will be addressed with the assistance protocol.
This course builds on the knowledge of 1 year of "General Nursing and Applied Methodology" and "Pathophysiology applied to nursing". The contents are linked to the modules of "Therapeutic Education" and "Community Nursing" for the early discharge trend and need for support at the time of discharge.
The course also integrates with the professional laboratories scheduled for the 2nd year of the course: making decisions for the management of the heart failure patient in the stabilized and advanced stages;

Syllabus

The program includes lessons on:
essential and secondary arterial hypertension: pathogenesis, clinical and risk factors, diagnostic elements and principles of therapy.
Cardiovascular risk factors and body composition.
Left and right heart failure: symptoms and cllinical presentation, principle of diagnosis and therapy
Rheumatology: pain in rheumatology, synovial fluid analysis, arthritis (autoimmune and reactive), osteoarthritis, connectivitis, anemia and gentian acuisite, hemorrhagic and coalgulation diseases, platelet diseases

Assessment methods and criteria

The exam will take place through a multiple choice test on 25 questions articulated on the program.
Leame is ncluded in the integrated test including also clinical nursing, infectious diseases, pneumology, cardiology, and oncology for which the final grade will be an expression of the result in the 6 issues.
The exam can be taken as a whole (6 subjects) or optionally in a partial block, at each appeal (Block A: internal medicine, infectious diseases and oncology, BLOCK B: clinical nursing, cardiology and pneumology).
At the explicit request of the student, the complete oral exam can be taken.
