At the end of the course the student will be able to recognize, understand and manage the main clinical problems of the elderly. In particular learning objectives will be the physiology of aging, the comprehensive geriatric assessment, evaluation and management of disability, immobilization syndrome, falls, syncope, malnutrition and dehydration.

Anatomical and functional aspects of the various phases of swallowing, diversifying them between the adult and geriatric patient. Recognize the pathologies in which the eating disorder and swallowing disorder can be found and what this affections could produce on the patient in adulthood and old age. Learn to think about complex clinical features both from the diagnostic and rehabilitation point of view . Plan a specific targeted rehabilitation plan for the individual patient. The rehabilitation techniques most frequently used in the field of neurological dysphagia, dysphagia neurodegenerative and oncology. Phenomenology of adult ,and senile swallow. gerontology. The elderly swallowing. Neurological and neurodegenerative dysphagia; Dysphagia in eating disorders (dementias cortical and subcortical). Dysphagia in severe brain injury (LCF); The patient dysphagic tracheostomysed (swallow, phonation) features of the assessment and treatement with dysphagic oncologyc patient.
