Learning outcomes

Aim of this course is the acquisition of scientific and cultural bases, indispensable in professional activities concerning health promotion and prevention, through the knowledge of the main technopathies we may contract in workplace, their prevention's strategies and means, both individual and collective, and the current italian Legislation in this regard.

Syllabus

Main aspects of DLgs 81/08; definition of risk in workplace, its assesment and evaluation; main actors defined in Dlgs, and their obligations and responsabilities, Definition of disease and injury at work. Main work-diseases (classical and emergent). Dusts- or fibers-related diseases. The allergic risk: basic concepts about professional allergies (mainly in respiratory tract and skin) and main allergenes in work places. The work-shifts, the night-shifts and associates diseases. The biological and environmental limits of exposure to chemical substances in the work-place. Health effects of the physical risk factors noise and vibration, and the ergonomic risk factors "work related musculoskeletal disorders" and the patient handling. The Bio-hazard and main risk factors in hospital workplace.
