Learning outcomes

The Course will offer to the students a theoretical and practical knowledge in term
of the Care of newborn with diseases, in particular with Endocrine Disorders - Metabolic Disorders -
Cromosomic Aberrations.
Another important item of the course will be to offer a capability to inform the mothers of vaccinations.
The Course will offer practical informations on Resuscitation.


The Course of “Prenatal Medicine and Neonatology” will offer an overview on Prenatal Medicine going from preterm newborn to healthy neonate. In particular we will discuss the major problems/diseases of preterm newborn looking at auxology – signs – symptoms. We will offer to the students an approach of Prenatal Medicine keeping the obstetrics virtually into Neonatal Intensive Unit Care. We will discuss also the vaccines and vaccinations, the chromosomes disorders and metabolic diseases.

Assessment methods and criteria

The final test will be written with close questions with mulpiple choices answers. The time allocated for the test is 60 minutes.
