Overview
Our bodies move as the result of a fine organisation of the neuro-musculo-skeletal (NMS) system. The study of NMS dysfunction is very broad and complex in scope. Motor activities are in fact the result of a chain of events within the body, from the transmission of nerve impulses to muscles contracting and acting on the mobile structures of the body. This functional balance can be altered by different circumstances that are very common in everyday life - trauma, constitutional or acquired postural abnormalities, functional overload, altered emotional state, etc. This Masters programme aims to study the principles that govern the control mechanisms of the neuro-musculo-skeletal system, basing itself on osteopathy and the latest knowledge. It will identify the disfunction of parts of the body associated with various diseases, suggest ways of correcting dysfunction through the use of specific interventions and promote the development of scientific research in these fields.
