Curriculum

Paola di Nicola is a full professor of sociologu of culture and communication at the Department of Human Science. She has carried out numerous theoretical and empirical research on changes in family models, both at the macro level (changes from a demographic and socio-economic point of view), and at the micro level: changes in relationships between couples, between generations and in forms of parenting. The analysis of the family has been developed in light of the impact that welfare policies have on the family resashionship and on the most significant changes in support networks, both informal and informal.
Paola Di Nicola has developed a relevant theoretical and empirical research path on the topic of the genesis of the network paradigm and on the morphogenesis of personal networks in the global society.

Structures, relationships and functions of the family Specific in-depth objects: structural and relational changes in the family (particularly in Italy); the impact of political policies on family structures and functions; changes in relationships between couples and between generations and their impact on the demographic framework and on the demand for services; new family configurations and changes in the cultural models of parenting: from heterosexual parenting to homosexual parenting, from biological parenting to social parenting. The impact of new medically assisted procreation techniques on couple relationships and on the concept of filiation.
