Curriculum

MD Gerardo Mangiante specialized in General Surgery, Endocrinologic Surgery and  Physiology and Therapy of Pain. In the past he was interested in liver surgery (expecially in benign liver tumor and pathology). Mainly today he is interested in in nutrition in surgery
He received the following awards: SINPE (1999) for the Acute Pancreatitis Nutrition Study, ESSR (2000, Mamo Sweden) for research on treatment of colonic rats anastomosis under symbiotic therapy.

Surgical Nutrition Surgical nutrition is became extremely important in behavior of surgucal pantients as the maiority of them is under bad nutritional state.We are administrating food directly by os or by enteral and parenteral ways immediatly after surgical procedures. The outcome of the patients as well after wide abdominal procedures is extremly positive with good outcome and reduction of hospital stay. Surgery
