Academic calendar
The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

The teaching is organized as follows:
Learning objectives
Clinical sciences include four disciplines: Endocrinology, Cardiovascular diseases, Blood diseases, and Medical oncology. The aim of the course is to join together technical-diagnostic skills and clinical knowledge. . ENDOCRINOLOGY The course is to provide the knowledge of the endocrine and metabolic diseases related to the main endocrine/metabolic systems. Lessons will present the single topics by starting with physiology and physiopatology and, finally, by presenting the clinical aspects (signs/symptoms) of the main endocrine/metabolic diseases. Students will learn how to recognize the main endocrine/metabolic diseases and their laboratory data presentation. Moreover, students will acquaint with the terminology needed to discuss clinical endocrine cases with other collegues. CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES To be able to recognize the peculiar elements of acute and chronic ischemic heart disease; to be able to recognize the basic knowledge on cardiovascular risk factors and atherosclerosis, cardiovascular primary and secondary prevention. To understand the role of laboratory medicine in the diagnostic process, risk stratification and therapeutic decision in the main cardiac diseases. BLOOD DISEASES Lerning outcomes: To recognize and to be able to describe structural and functional organization as well as disease feedback and adaptive mechanisms acting through the hematopoietic system. Such abilities would found blood disease systematics on a thorough understanding of the subject allowing to grasp physiopathological, clinical and diagnostic signatures. MEDICAL ONCOLOGY. Learning outcomes:To provide tools for the knowledge of the main neoplastic pathologies and of the methods necessary to program the therapies with drugs to molecular target.
